Behind Nai-ku(Inner shrine), vast and natural forest is preserved. The area is 5,500 hectare, same size as Paris. Ise shrine plant Japanese cypress which is ideal for building shrines. They are used for rebuilding shrine every twenty years.

The Isuzu river is pure and clean protected by these forest.
